Our client is a leading company in the metals and mining industry, currently expanding their smelter operations in Indonesia. They are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead and optimize their smelting operations.

Job Description

As the Deputy GM Operation - Smelter, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire smelting operation, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry regulations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading operational strategies to maximize production output while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Managing and optimizing process control, metallurgical performance, and plant efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Overseeing maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.
  • Managing teams across production, engineering, and maintenance, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Collaborating with senior management to develop long-term operational plans.
  • Implementing best practices and technological advancements in smelting operations.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in smelter or metallurgical plant operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in pyrometallurgical or hydrometallurgical processing.
  • Proven track record in operational leadership, process optimization, and cost management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Indonesian regulatory requirements for smelting operations.
